Woman charged with felony DWI after colliding with New York plow truck

On February 4, 2019, at approximately 7:40 p.m., State Police responded to State Route 86, between Lake Placid and Wilmington, New York, in the town of North Elba for a report of a two-car motor vehicle crash involving a New York State Department of Transportation plow truck.

An investigation at the scene revealed that a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Robin E. Anthony, 50, of Wilmington, was traveling east on State Route 86 behind several vehicles, following behind a New York State Department of Transportation plow truck.  Anthony tried to pass on the left, going by two uninvolved vehicles and began to overtake the plow truck, as the truck was simultaneously slowing and turning north. As the plow truck turned north, Anthony’s vehicle collided with it, according to police.

Officials said that Anthony refused testing to determine her blood alcohol content after being charged with DWI. She was subsequently charged with Felony DWI, and further ticketed for refusal to submit to a breath test and unsafe passing.

She was also found to have a previous DWI conviction in August 2010 in the village of Lake Placid, police said.

Anthony was arraigned in the North Elba Town Court and released on her own recognizance.

No injures were reported.
