Shelley man killed in cross over crash in Idaho Falls

On February 5, 2019, at approximately 11:30 A.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two-vehicle, fatality crash on Yellowstone Highway, just south of Sunnyside Road in Idaho Falls.

Robert LaDeaux, 45, of Shelley, ID, was driving northbound on Yellowstone Highway in a 2000 Ford Focus.  A 45-year-old Ammon, Idaho man was driving southbound on Yellowstone Highway in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala.  The Ford Focus crossed the center line and entered the southbound lanes of travel and was struck on the driver’s side by the Chevrolet Impala.  LaDeaux succumbed to his injuries at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, according to police.

The Impala driver was also transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Officials did not release the details of his injuries.

The southbound lanes of Yellowstone Highway were blocked for approximately two hours.

Idaho State Police was assisted by Idaho Falls Police Department, Idaho Falls Fire Department, and Idaho Falls Emergency Medical Services.
