Three Delaware Firefighters Injured In House Fire

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating a house fire that occurred in New Castle this morning.

Officials said the Goodwill Fire Company responded to the unit block of Bunker Hill Road, in the development of Penn Acres, for the report of a house fire. Upon arrival the Fire Department found heavy smoke and flames coming from an occupied residential building. Several fire departments were called to assist.

Deputy Fire Marshal’s were also called to the scene and are currently investigating the origin and cause of the fire.

The fire caused approximately $200,000 dollars in damage to the residence.

Three firefighters injured during the blaze were transported to Christiana Hospital. One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation and released. The status of the other firefighters is unknown at this time, officials said.
