Mandatory Evacuation Ordered For Parts Of Corona, California

With storms predicted for the Holy Fire burn area today (1/31/19), a MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER has been issued for residents in the following zones: Amorose Glen Ivy-B Maitri (Quarry) Alberhill (Pacific Clay) Grace McVicker-A Glen Eden Horsethief-A Rice Glen Ivy-A Laguna-A Withrow-A

People in these zones MUST GO NOW.

Rainstorms carry the potential for dangerous debris flows that can send mud, boulders and trees crashing down hillsides. It is critical that residents look online at www.RivCoReady.org/StormReady and scroll down to the zone maps to determine the zone in which they live and the status of that zone.

Residents in the Holy burn area should verify the zone where they live because some boundaries have changed since previous evacuation warnings.

An evacuation center is open at Elsinore High School, 21800 Canyon Drive, in Wildomar. Small animals are being accepted at the San Jacinto Animal Campus, located at 581 S. Grand Ave. in San Jacinto. Residents who need to evacuate large animals should contact Riverside County Animal Services at (951) 358-7387.

Because debris flows can happen with little to no warning, emergency officials might only be able to provide residents a few minutes’ notice, or none at all. As always, residents are urged to remain vigilant and take personal responsibility for their safety. Residents with RVs/Motorhomes are being provided free hookups at Lake Skinner Recreation Area, 37701 Warren Road in Winchester and Rancho Jurupa Regional Park, 4800 Crestmore Road in Jurupa Valley. If your home is in an at-risk area, it is critical that you understand the seriousness of the situation and are always prepared. Please go to www.RivCoReady.org/StormReady to find out if you live in an at-risk area.
